Emma Watson, renowned humanitarian and actress, features on the cover of Vogue Australia for the
March 2018 issue wearing vegan fashion by Stella McCartney. Watson is most famously known for her acting career, but her humanitarian efforts have taken the spotlight in recent years.
The March 2018 issue of Vogue Australia focuses on sustainability in the fashion industry and “designing the future”. Stella McCartney is an ethical designer, with all her pieces using synthetic materials, and many pieces being vegan, including the items worn by Watson in the Vogue cover shoot.
Watson was a guest editor on the March 2018 issue of Vogue Australia and on Instagram she said: “I helped guest edit @vogueaustralia’s March issue dedicated to conversations about sustainability and “Designing the Future”. I am so proud of this! @Edwinamccann thank you for making my editing dreams come true. Link in my bio to read my guest editor letter.”
Edwina McCann, the editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia said: “Emma’s personal commitment to sustainable fashion and the process of putting together this issue has introduced us to new ways of thinking and tools to help us be better informed. The challenges she has posed have set us in new directions, which will be lasting.”
Watson has worn vegan and sustainable fashion previously, and at the Met Gala in 2016 she wore a dress made entirely from recycled plastic bottles, advocating the cause for sustainable fashion.
