It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s is one of our favorite places to go grocery shopping. First and foremost, their affordability makes it easy for anyone to stock up on pantry staples and fresh produce. Second, they have consistently released plant-based products that are in line with food trends, like riced cauliflower (and broccoli), veggie noodles, pulse-based pastas, and more. Although they sometimes discontinue our favorite products (we miss you, Trader Joe’s miso paste), we can always rely on Trader Joe’s to tempt us with their latest products.
Due to a growing interest in plant-based food, there are now more vegan options in stores than ever before — including at Trader Joe’s! Every year, the grocery chain releases a slew of new, vegan products for Thanksgiving and this year is no different. While we here at One Green Planet typically stand by the idea that homemade food is best, we completely understand how chronic and mental illness, physical disability, or even just the stress of the holiday season make throwing a dinner together unrealistic for many of us. Options will vary from region to region, but here are some of our favorites that you can find across all locations:
First, the centerpiece. Trader Joe’s Turkey-Less Stuffed Roast With Gravy features breaded seitan stuffed with cranberry-speckled stuffing.
If you’re making your own roast or if you just want some low-carb stuffing on the side, try their Riced Cauliflower Stuffing, which featured carrots, celery, onion, dried cranberries, and seasonal herbs.
We love an easy dessert and this Sweet Potato and Marshmallow Pixie Pie Mix is 100 percent vegan (yes, even the marshmallow spread). Although the box calls for eggs, Instagram users have reported that mashed banana works. We also recommend trying a commercial powdered egg replacer or applesauce.
End Thanksgiving dinner on a sweet note with this vegan Almond Nog. Yum!
