Superstar Cardi B — legal name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar — is set to debut a new range of clothing, which includes a selection of vegan leather items.
The rap artist has partnered with clothing brand Fashion Nova to release what will be their second collaborative collection. It will continue in the vein of the last collection, which sold out in minutes last fall.
The new line, which calls back to fashion of the 80s and 90s, is available online only, in sizes up to 3X, priced between $29 and $99.
“More color, more cut-outs,” Cardi B said of the line, speaking to ET.
“It’s more fun, it’s more summertime, but it also has that Matrix look that I like.”
She also hinted at a beauty line coming in the near future, but made no mention of whether it would be vegan or animal friendly.
Cardi B Not Yet Vegan
Though Cardi B announced to her 26-million followers in 2018 that she was trying plant-based foods to stay healthy during her pregnancy, she continues to wear both feathers and fur — actions which have earned her criticism among animal rights players.
In fact, she was among the stars to show up clad in animal parts at this year’s MET Gala, all of whom were criticized by PETA.
“With all those privileged folks in attendance, you’d think the Met Gala could afford a little compassion for one night,” said one PETA representative.
“Those feathers once belonged to living, feeling animals and were ripped out of their bodies, which were left bloody, broken, and destroyed.”
