Fast food chains are racing to add meatless and plant-based options to their menus. Del Taco partnered with Beyond Meat to offer vegan meat crumbles across California and when that was successful, they added it to all locations nationwide. Taco Bell announced that they’d be testing out a vegetarian menu with vegan options this year too. Burger King also tested out a meatless option at select locations and within a month, it did so well, they added it to the menu at all their locations across the US. Now another very popular fast food chain is joining the list—Little Caesar’s will be testing a meatless sausage!
Little Caesar’s is partnering with Impossible Foods to offer plant-based sausage as a pizza topping. They will offer a pizza called Little Caesars’ Impossible Supreme Pizza at 58 locations Fort Myers, Florida; Yakima, Washington; and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The special pizza will also have veggie toppings: mushrooms, caramelized onions, and green peppers.
If the pizza receives good feedback, the pizza chain plans to expand it to all their locations across the country. Hopefully, this means they may then look into testing out dairy-free cheese as well!
